it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
A group of 8th grade girls, after weeks of begging, wore me down and convinved me to coach a volleyball team. They were so excited to start practicing. My girls are so amazing! They have such good hearts. My school is in the Bronx and a lot of them come from difficult home situations. Only one practice and we won our first game! Unfortunately, we do not have enough equipment to practice with. I wish I could get them all everything they want myself, they deserve it so much.
My Project
Donated equipment is going straight to my girls! They can’t afford to buy knee pads for themselves, and I do not want them to get hurt. We also don’t have enough volleyballs for everyone to practice with. I just took a volleyball coaching workshop and am so excited to teach them everything! Our net is pretty embarrassing and I would love my girls to feel more confident when other schools come to play us. They are so excited about this new venture in our school and are having so much fun learning how to play. Thank you for any help!
