My Project
Our second graders are reading about nonfiction books, and they are especially into volcanoes. When students read nonfiction about volcanoes, experiencing the construction and eruption of a volcano kit can make those readings come to life. It's like turning words on a page into a real, hands-on lesson. My goal for this project is to help students understand scientific ideas better because they get to see and do what they've read about.
It's like taking the information from the book and making it real, which makes reading nonfiction more interesting and easier to understand.
I am planning to read a book about volcanoes and letting the students build and see how a volcano erupts.
