My Project

I work with amazing students across our school district who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to express themselves. From preschoolers just beginning to explore language to upper elementary students refining their communication skills, each child has something important to say — and they deserve the right tools and materials to help them say it.

Many of my students are non-speaking or have limited verbal speech, and they use communication devices, visual supports, and sign language to connect with the world around them.

The books and materials in this project are hand-picked to celebrate neurodiversity, reinforce core vocabulary, and promote inclusive, engaging language learning.

From alphabet books that support AAC and core word development, to board books and picture books that feature neurodivergent characters, to sign language cards that promote multimodal communication, each item is selected with the needs of diverse learners in mind. The PicSeePal storage system will keep AAC pages easily accessible for little hands and help teachers and therapists keep materials organized and ready to go.

These resources will support social-emotional learning, language development, and literacy skills in ways that meet my students where they are — through visuals, repetition, movement, and joy. With your help, my students will have the tools they need to build confidence, connect with others, and express themselves in meaningful ways.
