My Project

My incredible students are bright, eager, and bursting with potential! A significant portion of my school is comprised of bilingual learners who are working incredibly hard to master the English language. While they excel in many areas, developing strong oral communication skills can be a challenge in a bustling classroom environment.

Imagine a classroom where every student, especially our bilingual learners, has the opportunity to practice speaking English confidently, receive instant feedback, and create dynamic projects using their voice.

With a set of high-quality headsets, my students will be able to:

Practice Speaking English in a Low-Stakes Environment:

Headsets will provide a personal sound bubble, allowing students to speak freely without feeling self-conscious about being overheard. This is crucial for building confidence and fluency.

Receive Targeted Speaking Assessments:

Many online platforms and programs offer incredible tools for speech recognition and pronunciation assessment. With headsets, students can utilize these resources effectively, getting real-time feedback on their progress and identifying areas for improvement.

Create Engaging Voice-Based Projects:

From podcasting about their favorite books to narrating digital stories, presenting research, or even creating audio diaries, headsets will open up a world of creative possibilities. This allows students to showcase their understanding and express themselves in a powerful, authentic way.

My School is a dedicated learning environment serving approximately 520 students in Belmont-Cragin. We are committed to fostering academic excellence and providing equitable opportunities for all learners. Our school embraces the diversity of our student population and strives to create an inclusive and supportive atmosphere where every child can reach their full potential. A significant percentage (~50%) of our student body are bilingual learners, and we are constantly seeking innovative ways to support their language development and academic success.
