Voices That Matter: Diverse Books for Meaningful Conversations.
Help me give my students stories that reflect the real world--their challenges, their voices, and their dreams. All of these books will challenge them, validate their experiences and spark discussions.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are eager to read stories that reflect the real world--their challenges, their voices, and their dreams. With your help, we can build a diverse classroom library featuring books that center around identity, justice, and empathy. These high-interest novels will fuel powerful conversations during literature circles and help students become not just better readers, but more thoughtful citizens.
I teach amazing 10th-grade students who are curious, opinionated, and full of questions about the world around them.
Many of them have never seen themselves reflected in the books they've read for school. They come from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, mostly lower SES, and for some, school is the safest place they have to express themselves and explore big ideas.
They are ready for books that challenge them, validate their experiences, and spark discussions. Literature circles allow them to connect deeply with characters, each other, and the issues that matter most in their lives.
