Voices of the Future: Public Speaking Club

Help me give my students a speaker system, posters, markers, notebooks, public speaking books, and certificates to use their voices in engaging ways that will spark thought-provoking conversations that may produce change in today's challenging world.

My Project

The aim of the public speaking club is to build students’ confidence, communication skills, and leadership abilities through structured public speaking activities and performance opportunities during the school year in the classroom, during assemblies, and at off-campus events related to school. The group that was selected to be a part of this club are members of our school's honor society and ambassadors program. They are already leaders with lots of responsibilities when it involves reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

Goals

1. Improve verbal communication and presentation skills.

2. Develop self-confidence and poise when speaking in front of groups.

3. Teach students how to structure speeches for different purposes (informative, persuasive, entertaining).

4. Encourage peer feedback and collaboration.

5. Provide performance opportunities within the school or community.

The selected items for with public-speaking club: posters, markers, notebooks, public speaking books, certificates, and microphones and will all be used to carry out the activities in this club.
