Voices Across Pages: Diverse Authors, United Readers
Help me give my students books! When kiddos see themselves in books, they learn to see the power in their own stories.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This fall, I’ll begin my first year teaching 7th grade English Language Arts, and while I haven’t met my students yet, I’m already thinking about the kind of classroom I want to build with them one that feels inclusive, inspiring, and reflective of the many stories that make up our world.
Middle school is such a formative time for identity and self-expression.
I want to offer my students a library that speaks to who they are and who they’re still becoming. That’s why I’m creating a book project focused on diverse voices from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and life experiences. I believe every student deserves to see themselves in the pages they read and to have the chance to learn about others in meaningful, authentic ways.
With your help, I’ll bring in books written by Black, Indigenous, Asian, Hispanic, and other underrepresented authors, stories that celebrate difference, build empathy, and encourage conversation.
Though I haven’t yet learned their names, I already know my students will come with a mix of curiosity, creativity, and questions. I want our classroom to be a place where they feel safe to explore, connect, and grow, and this library will be one of the first steps in making that vision real.
Thank you for helping me start this journey with the right tools, the right books, and the right heart.
