This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Vocal Music students just had their End of the Year Show, showcasing the work they have been doing all year long. During the show, they noticed some supplies and equipment we're missing that would improve our program.

Since this week is Teacher Appreciation Week, this is the best time for you to support our growing program as we transition into the next school year!

Throughout this year, the choir binders we inherited from the previous teacher have been slowly falling apart, making it more difficult for students to keep track of sheet music, assignments, and notes. A new set of binders would give us a fresh start to the school year, allowing students to stay organized from day 1.

During our concert, we had to borrow instrument cables from a music teacher from another school. We were lucky that it all worked out, but it's more ideal for us to have all of the cables we need. The different cables in the shopping cart would fill in that hole in our supplies.

Something special about my classroom is how much we focus on Music Theory. This is typically rare for middle school, and even more rare in a choral program. We are lucky to have exceptional students who rise to the challenge, and the sets of whiteboards would help them in their studies.

Finally, the file organizer would be helpful to both me and the students. Right now, students hand in assignments on a chair in the middle of the room because it's the easiest place for me to keep track of them before putting them away in my own organization system. Next year, I would like students to participate in this organization, using this file organizer.
