My students are hearing impaired ranging from the ages 8-11. They are very creative and loving children that work hard to achieve their goals. They have been idenified as hearing impaired at different ages and some of them are struggling to catch up with their peers of the general education setting.
Lacking the language that that most of us receive when we are first born, my students missed out and are behind because of this.
My goal for them is to always help them do their best to reach their goals and succeed in life. Just because they have an impairment doesn't mean they can't make an impact.
My Project
My students will be using the flocabulary site to help increase their vocabulary in a fun and exciting way. I have used a free trial for this site and my students loved it right away. They are able to use technology and music to learn and I believe this helps them retain the information being taught. Increasing our vocabulary in life is very important.
This program is very visual, which will also help my students because they are visual learners.
Flocabulary is very unique and a great way to set the tone in your classroom. It will get my kids excited about learning because they will be having so much fun!
