This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am the special education teacher in an ICT kindergarten classroom. I love my job and the students I get to work with every day. Their inquisitive minds and constant questioning of everything and anything is heart warming. They're eager to learn and continue to shine despite everything they've been through these past two years. Working in a Title I school is rewarding, but many of the families do not have the means to replace daily classroom necessities. At this point in the year, our supplies are badly depleted.

We've made it more than halfway through the year and we badly need to replenish the necessary supplies in our classroom.

My students need solid pencils with erasers and crayons in order to complete their lessons and activities. The markers will allow me to create beautiful anchor charts that my students rely on to aid in their learning. The laminating sheets are a necessity for my students with disabilities. I create behavior plans, daily schedules, and token economy boards (to name but a few) using the laminating sheets. The copy paper will be used for class copies of additional materials and supplemental at-home learning packets. The TpT gift card will allow me to provide my students with fun and engaging guided reading and sight word lessons and materials. In addition to this, I want to purchase summer packet materials that will get my students ready for first grade.
