Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I currently had a switch of caseload as a special education teacher. I went from servicing 2nd and 4th graders to a self-contained categorical classroom. Now I service some 2nd graders, some 4th graders, one 1st grader, and a kindergartener student. As I took on this position I realized I do not have what we need. The majority of the students are autistic and need customized visuals. As well some students have behaviors which cause them to destroy materials. Laminating everything with a new Laminating machine, helps keep our materials safe.
I really need your support to obtain a laminator, and Velcro, as I just picked up this caseload this semester.
I already bought a lot for this classroom and having a family on my own is hard.
