Help me give my students a printer and toner to create bright vivid color pictures for use with daily schedules, communication boards, and picture cards.
The students in my classroom are on the autism spectrum; the grades range from transitional kindergarten, to kindergarten, first and second grade. Most of the students are verbal; however, some of the students have limited-to-no verbal communication. It's amazing to see how far the students develop throughout the year when they are in my classroom. My job, working with students who are on the autism spectrum, is so rewarding.
The students in my classroom are amazing and full of personality; they are creative, smart, fun and unique.
They may learn differently but are not different from their peers. The students are visual learners and benefit from learning through technology. They enjoy learning through educational videos, music, educational games, social skills, and building language.
My Project
This project will provide a color printer and toner form my classroom and students. Providing students with color pictures will help the students visualize the item as it supposed to be rather in black and white. When realia is not present in the classroom, seeing the item in color is the next best thing for the students. In addition, the color printer will be used for printing the students communication boards, daily schedule cards, and reward token economy. They use these items daily, and it is part of their everyday routine in the classroom. The students in my classroom succeed with the use of visual pictures, to complete their work and communicate with others.
