This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Due to recent budget cuts my students are not able to get the resources that will allow them to be prepared for college.

My students attend an inner city school in New York.

The school is classified as a high needs Title I school. They are visual and hands-on learners and the ability to use technology helps them with their current education and prepares them for the future.

My Project

The focus of our school is "Architecture and Design" and for that reason the majority of the students that go to our school are very interested in architecture. An LCD projector would allow me to display architectural works for my students to see and discuss. A large, full color picture of a structure has a much deeper impact on my students than a black and white photocopy. The LCD projector will allow me to dazzle my students and feed their curiosity for architecture. They will learn about different architectural styles and the works of famous architects. A big part of our curriculum is the redesign and reuse of existing structures and an LCD projector will allow me to show my students before and after pictures to help reinforce these concepts.

With your help we can undo the burden of unfair budget cuts that have devastated the education of the students that need the most support.

These days, students are very in tune with technology and the ability to use technology to further their education is a great learning experience which they must have before they go to college.
