My Students

We are a neighborhood school serving the community since l927. In addition to general education students, our students represent 23 language groups, many of them English language learners, and students with special needs. Our mission is to develop joyful learners by providing them with support, encouragement, and opportunities for challenge.

Our students are enthusiastic learners who thrive on creativity and being challenged!

They are motivated by high-interest level curriculum and hands-on learning opportunities. They also love being able to explore, create new things, and are highly motivated by student centered learning. We are always looking for ways to provide them with tools that will help them maximize their potential.

My Project

Distance Learning challenges me to teach in different ways, emphasizing visuals to keep students engaged. Besides using hand signals and keeping student online tools simple, being able to zoom in on a lesson from a top down perspective will help keep the focus on the lesson at hand.

Having a quality document camera will allow students to have a better view of the materials I will be teaching with, especially when we move onto Maker activities.

A document camera will also help to clearly show the pages in the books I read to connect concepts in computer science and engineering.
