Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

H.M.E. is a Science and Technology Magnet school in an urban neighborhood. Our school serves a diverse and active community Kindergarten through Grade 5.

Our students are dynamic learners!

They enter school each day growing academically and social-emotionally in a supportive environment. As educators we provide the resources to assist our eager youth in developing relationships, accessing their environments, and expressing their ideas.

I meet with all students depending on the need. This project will help aid in their daily positive school experience.

My Project

As a School Psychologist, I work with regular and special education students that learn in a variety of ways.

Support students with feeling identification, communication, and learning behaviors!

These tools assist in the creation of a variety of picture cues and visual aids. Visual schedules are great opportunities for students to learn about school transitions in a personal way. Picture books and visual cards can help nonverbal students express how they are feeling. Charts designed specifically to student's interests can be a fun way for students to use positive behavior motivators.

These tools can be especially beneficial for students with an autism spectrum disorder, speech/language impairment, or those who are working on emotional regulation skills. Each visual tool can be created and designed to meet the unique needs of our learners with these materials.

Laminated items keep tools school ready and Velcro helps students use and reuse their visuals in a hands-on way!

Whether it's helping a child learn their routine or share their story, these materials help every student connect with the educational setting and each other.
