My students are a diverse and energetic group of four year olds. I teach eight different classes throughout the week, for a period of 50 minutes each.
These students are English Language Learners, which means that not only are they experiencing school for the first time, they are also learning a new language.
Regardless of which language they speak at home, running and playing in the gym is a universal language. Students need this time of the day to help them learn how to use their energy in a safe way.
My Project
These pictures cards and mats will help show students how to move their bodies. They are large and colorful and will help to grab the students' attention.
English Language Learners need visual cues to help them understand what to do during Gym.
They are learning English for the first time and are often confused when listening to directions given. These beautiful cards and mats will guide their movements and allow them to better participate in class.
Students will be able to follow along with the teacher or play with these cards independently at a learning station. The cards and mats will help students gain physical education vocabulary and get their bodies moving at the same time.
