Visual Arts Support and Learning

My students need a proper drying rack for their visual art pieces.

My Students

Too often, dance, theater, and visual arts are left out of school. My school is part of Arts Impact and we are working to integrate the arts into instruction every day.

Many of my students are first and second generation immigrants from Eastern Africa, Asia, and Central America.

They are happy, excited, kind, and driven learners. Their families work hard to help their children succeed. My school is over 90% free/reduced lunch, we provide before and after school care for many of our students, and because of growth in our district, our building is bursting at the seams!

My Project

The wall-mounted art drying racks will be used by my students to properly dry and store their finished and in-progress art projects. In giving students an opportunity to manage their art pieces professionally they will learn to care for their work, that their work is valued, and how to care for each other's creations.

Currently, our art gets shoved all over the classroom and often gets ruined or damaged due to space constrictions.

By having wall-mounted drying racks, students will be able to produce art that is cared for in a professional manner. By having a wall-mounted system, their precious (and shrinking) classroom floor space won't be taken away, and the work that they are so rightfully proud of will get the respect it deserves.
