My students need art materials from paint and paint accessories to playdough numbers and letters. We are also asking for pipe cleaners and wiggly eyes to make crafts!

My Students
Do you remember being in kindergarten and loving art time? Do you remember painting masterpieces with brushes or finger painting pictures of your friends and family? Do you remember using playdough and clay to build cities, animals, or even your name? Kids haven't changed. Kids still treasure art!
My students are artistic, curious, and expressive.
They love working on art projects and creating masterpieces that we can display in our classroom or send home to their families. Visual and hands on art is a creative part of our curriculum that I cherish and want to continue to integrate in as many ways as we can. With budget cuts and limited resources in our school and community, the arts have been some of the first cuts that districts have been forced to make. In kindergarten, as well as in all grades, children need a chance to express themselves creatively. They take great pride and satisfaction in creating something that they can be proud of. I don't want my students to have to limit their creative expression because of lack of funds. We gather resources where we can, but things like multicultural skin color paint, moon sand, and fancy cut scissors are not in our budget.
My Project
The integration of the arts and, in this case, visual arts is a crucial part of the children's enjoyment at school. Being able to get their hands dirty and create something they can be proud of is an important part of their creative development. Items like the multicultural skin color paint will help my students to paint and represent themselves as they view themselves when we paint our self portraits. Having arts and craft materials like wiggly eyes, fancy cut scissors, and pipe cleaners will help them to be able to go to the recycled materials table and build masks, cars, or animals. I strive to provide my students with as many opportunities as possible to express themselves creatively. The dot stampers will be used in math when we are working on number sense and addition. The moon sand will go in the sensory table where they will be able to play and work on fine motor development. Furthermore, art is fun! And, school needs to be fun in order to be successful.
Your donation to this project will allow my students this year, as well as students in coming years to enjoy, explore, and create art!
You will help be responsible for the hundreds of gorgeous self portraits, dot stamp addition posters, wiggly eyed animals and people, and lots of happy creative kids! Thank you for taking the time to look at our project and for supporting public schools. The children are worth every cent!
