My Students

"Where do I want my students to be at the end of the school year?" is the question that DonorsChoose.org asked me. I WANT THEM TO BE EVERYWHERE THEY CAN POSSIBLY VISIT Via Virtual Reality Field trips! Samsung VR Gear will make this possible by bringing French Countries to us in the class room!

Students at my school are high performing and very motivated.

Many of the kids hope to be engineers in Silicon Valley, like their parents. They are knowledgable about technology and enthusiastic when allowed to use it in the French classroom. Students at my junior high are very involved in music and the arts so I know they will appreciate what these "virtual field trips" can bring to our classroom experience.

My Project

My students have asked me several times to plan a field trip to France. They are half-joking, but suggested virtual reality. With this technology I will plan "field trips" to monuments such as Versailles and the Eiffel Tower in France and to Francophone countries like Switzerland, Canada, and African Countries. We will plan vocabulary lessons and history around these "visits". It is such an awesome way to be interactive while using a world language.

Our French classroom will now have access to history, culture, and language at our fingertips. I do like seeing my students actively involved in their learning. This will be an opportunity for collaboration and cross-curricular lessons.
