Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am blessed with 24 amazing 2nd-grade students. Many of my students are English language learners and come from low-income families. Due to circumstances, students may not come to school mentally ready to learn, nor do they have all the resources necessary to have a successful school day. Thus, my job as their educator is to fill in the missing parts and provide students with everything they need to be successful learners. My students and I truly appreciate all the materials we receive from DonorsChoose, which help our days run smoothly.
My Project
I just finished 3 weeks of distance learning and is now starting to record lessons for students. It's difficult to make my lessons visible and easy to understand without a document camera, especially when I know students benefit from me modeling first. I will use the document camera and the magnetic place value tools when recording math lessons. I also plan to use my document camera when I am teaching live. Doing so will help my visual learners understand the information I'm giving better. Overall, having a document camera will improve the quality of my virtual lessons.
