This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a small but cozy classroom. I work in a low socioeconomic neighborhood, so many of our resources are not the newest, but we make the best of them! With hard work, my students are able to go from knowing no letters, numbers, or shapes to recognizing upper/lower case letters and sounds, recognizing numbers, and even adding and subtracting!

Even though my students face a lot of challenges at times, they come every day with positive attitudes, eager and ready to learn which is what makes me come ready to teach them with love and kindness.

My Project

It feels so long since I have seen both my students and classroom. We have weekly chats and video sessions but it is not the same. But is is the safest option for now. I have made many changes to accommodate this new online teaching transition. I have installed Wi-Fi in my house, changed a room to resemble a classroom which I feel need a few more things to help my new home classroom come alive with my virtual lesson. The chromebooks would not help me assist multiple students at a time but i can also allow students to check them out to those who don't have technology at home.

Having these items will really benefit my kids and make my virtual classroom come to life!
