Virtual Sketchbook Drawing

Help me give my students sketchbooks so they may participate in our online drawing classes. Virtual learning has prohibited us from doing in studio hands on art so drawing from home should get them to express themselves.

My Students

These are students living in a low-income community with limited experience and understanding of Visual Arts activities and are from varying backgrounds. Nonetheless, in my observation, they are thirsty for a direction to new ideas.

These students may be defined by ethnicity and socioeconomic variables but should not be limited to the lack of a creative opportunity in a free public learning environment.

I have come to understand that quite a number of these children either live in foster homes, single-parent homes, or have one parent being incarcerated for varying reasons. This stresses a psychological mishap on their behavior daily when socializing and expressing themselves.

My Project

Online learning rules out in studio hands-on art creations, therefore students will have the opportunity to express themselves learning some drawing techniques both synchronously and asynchronously from their space of comfort. Drawing is the most fundamental aspect of the Visual Arts and will be employed to build confidence and awareness in students. Students will learn how to draw and relate their creativity to those of established artists. They will also learn an appreciation of the arts and its role in our society. Using a sketchbook to draw will help them be more organized.
