My Project
I teach students on behavior plans in a self contained unit. We are completely separate from the main building. Most of these students come from a difficult home life and often bring their troubles to school. Our classrooms provide them a unique learning environment while helping them earn credits to graduate instead of giving up and dropping out.
We have no supplies so when we do a chemistry unit, we strictly read from a book, or I buy what we need for simple experiments- we made ice cream in baggies recently.
Our textbooks are leftovers from 2006.
Virtual reality lessons and experiments would change my classroom into an active classroom plus utilize a medium that students are already interest in!
