This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year, I am responsible for educating a class of highly energetic, Title I, first grade students. I am blessed to have a group of twenty-five students who love to read, write, and learn in general. These kids come from very diverse backgrounds and deserve the best education I can provide.
Each year, I strive to provide my students with an academically rigorous education that not only is at their level, but helps to push them to the next level.
I have worked extremely hard at providing my classroom with as many learning materials as possible; however, there are a few that we need some assistance obtaining.
My Project
This year has been extremely difficult for my first grade students. Not only did their Kindergarten year get cut short, they have not been able to be back on campus for in person learning.
Please help my students have a better home learning experience by providing them with essential hands-on math manipulatives.
When students are able to be in person and on school campus they are exposed to a multitude of hands on learning manipulatives. This year though the circumstances have changed and the materials are not able to be sent home.
With this project my students will be able to work on telling time and writing the time using the clocks, be able to count to 120 using the linking cubes as well as practice making groups of ten to help them count large numbers, use the ten frames to add and subtract and finally base ten packs to work with counting numbers and addition and subtraction.
