Help me give my students the hands on tools they need to make virtual learning a success!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. McManus's classroom raised $695

My Students
The students in our classrooms are kindergarteners. For most of them, this is their first experience in a school setting. Some are newcomers from different countries, and a lot of them are also English Language Learners. At this age they are learning and exploring quickly. They have an incredible thirst for knowledge and are excited for new experiences and challenges. Being five and six years old they are very active and love to explore through personal experiences. We try to challenge their thinking and learning as much as possible through whole group and small group instruction. They need hands on learning experiences and added fun to learn!
My Project
Teaching remotely can be difficult at times without the proper math tools to help students learn. Giving students different math manipulatives unifix cubes, counters, dice, and pattern blocks. Using these math manipulatives a home will help to give our students a hands on experience that they would normally get in the classroom.
Going virtually has been difficult and for those new to this experience we want to make this a little easier if possible.
With these resources our students will be more engaged in their work and follow along with virtual lessons. They will be able to actively participate with our teaching. Adding and subtracting with the unifix cubes, the counters, and dice. They will also learn their shapes and colors with pattern blocks and playdough and strengthen their fine motor skills that are developmentally appropriate at this age.
These math manipulatives will continue to enhance their learning skills that we strive to create in the classroom. With these resources, our students will be able to choose from a variety of materials that will allow them to work independently at their own level.
