This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My second graders are wonderful, but face many challenges due to poverty. All students at my school qualify for free breakfast and lunch so it is difficult for them to have the supplies at home they need to learn successfully. I have requested a variety of material to support their learning at home.

My Project

I have requested a variety of materials to support my second graders learning at home. Additionally, since my classroom is very diverse I need supplies for my second graders to help them feel loved, supported and successful during these difficult times.

This year when school reopens students will need to be caught up academically and also supported emotionally.

I am sure the books, markers, and art supplies will help my second graders see themselves in a positive way. I have requested individual drawstring bags for each student to keep the materials organized at their home. Thank you in advance for helping my students be successful and happy.
