My Students
My students are from Baltimore City, where although they sometimes come from some of the roughest neighborhoods, they come eager to learn and give me their very best. Some of my students have been diagnosed with disabilities that place added barriers to their learning experience. Adaptations and modifications are always needed to ensure my students are able to access the curriculum. This project will help me give them an equal footing in their education.
My Project
During this Covid-19 pandemic, we have been asked to switch to distance learning and virtual teaching. Many lessons students have had to struggle to see displays, posters and charts I've created since I was only able to scan them with my phone in my hand. The document camera will allow me to share with students these documents clearly. The other various materials will be distributed to allow opportunities for continuing learning for students. Our students haven't been able to return to school for their supplies some left not knowing that they wouldn't be returning. Pencils, paper, highlighters and glue, shouldn't be the reason students are not able to learn. This project will put these items back in the hands of my students, and provide for a continuity of instruction.
