My Students

Our school provides early intervention services for children ages 3 to 5 with various developmental delays. Students receive services such as occupational therapy, physical therapy, and/or speech and language therapy while attending a special education preschool.

I believe that all children should be able to experience a hands-on, developmentally appropriate preschool regardless of their abilities, and that is what I strive to do every day.

I love to learn and hope to provide my students the same love of learning through play and exploration!

My Project

Our district has moved to virtual learning as the number of COVID cases is on the rise. Virtual teaching for preschool students with developmental delays requires creative thinking and planning.

As we transition to virtual teaching, it is more important than ever to supply my students with reusable hands-on materials while they are learning at home.

The unifix cubes will allow students to make patterns, count, and measure various items around their house. The Wikki Stix will help students build the letter of the week and create various projects over and over again. The story telling board will allow me to use exciting visuals as I tell stories. Finally, the activity scarves and scarf music will allow students to take movement breaks as we sing and dance.

All of these listed materials are reusable and will allow me to create different lesson plans to incorporate various hands-on learning activities while the students are learning virtually.
