Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I currently teach at the same school where I was once a student. This community and this school hold a special place in my heart. My students come from low-income families and all students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Regardless of their background, my students have so much potential and are just waiting for the opportunity to shine.
I would love to be able to be equipped with new and creative ways to motivate and encourage all of my students to reach for the stars.
I want to foster a love for learning, so my students become lifelong learners.
By learning new strategies that authentically engage students in their everyday learning, my students will come to love school and learning about just anything. They are the future world changers!
My Project
I teach both online and face-to-face students. I believe both methods are extremely difficult during a pandemic. However, online learning presents a lot of new and unique experiences and challenges.
I want to make sure I am fostering a love of learning in both my classroom and virtually with ALL of my students.
Some things that I think will help engage students authentically are things like a pop-up green screen, merge cubes, and a microphone and headset to ease the communication. In the classroom I am always in need of laminating sheets and I would like my students to have a colored pen to help them edit their own work. I have also added a great book about fostering perseverance through the math struggle of 4th grade.
