Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are hard-working, creative, highly motivated, and diverse groups of learners. They come to school ready to learn and I want to give them a safe, happy, and productive classroom.
I teach at a Title One school in Houston where ninety percent of the students receive free lunch.
Some of the students in my school participate in the Backpack Buddy program. My students are third grade, English Language Learners. My students are eager to learn and do their best to make their parents, teachers, and school proud.
My Project
I would like my students to be able to participate in an unforgettable field trip to the Houston Zoo without leaving the classroom or their homes. I want my students to be able to participate in virtual field trips, because I know early engagement is critical to close the gap between students.
The Houston Zoo instructors will take my students on a Virtual Zoo Tour.
My students will visit the Big Cats and Texas Wetlands exhibits. Please help us bring the excitement of the Houston Zoo to my classroom. Thank you for considering funding our project.
