Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Hello! I teach 2nd grade students in the city of Chicago where the community is predominantly of Latinx students. The majority of students are of low income and use their LOVE of reading to explore different places around the world, including their own city.
My second graders have a beautiful passion to learn and love passing on their love of learning for the betterment of others.
Knowledge is power and my 2nd graders are a prime example of that! I have students who sneak books to lunch because they just can't get enough of what they are reading. Other students secretly ask me if they can keep a book because they love it so much! Our love of reading is infinite and we want the world to know!
My Project
As we begin our virtual learning adventure, my job will be to provide my 2nd grade students with the best and most clear instruction possible. I am asking for a Wacom drawing tablet because it will allow me to clearly draw and annotate on screen for all my students to see (writing on screen with a the regular mouse is TOUGH). Essentially the pen will act as a mouse and will allow me to have drag/drawing features.
By donating the Wacom drawing tablet, you will help me meet the needs of my students by drawing directly on screen during our math and reading lessons.
This tablet will also allow me to make pre-recorded tutorials that I can share with my students. I am extremely excited to get this year started and with this tool, I will make virtual teaching much more efficient and legible for all!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
