This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are not just the sons and daughters of immigrants; they are in many cases first-generation immigrants who are disenfranchised and their only anchor to success is our elementary school. My students are eager to learn and given the right opportunity, they will succeed. To be sure, the great equalizer is quality education in a caring environment to support them and offer them real means to succeed and a bridge to a brighter future.
My Project
This laptop and headset will help me communicate with my students via Zoom and Microsoft Teams. This equipment will enable my students to view lessons without lagging, thus bringing excitement and enthusiasm to a large group of students at an economic disadvantage that given the necessary resources outperforms other surrounding and more affluent communities. This project will be an opportunity to expand my students' skills via Zoom and all the platforms offered via Office 365 with a laptop that is fast enough to process those challenges and support our training as we embark and navigate through the challenges on Distance Learning. In fact, this laptop will help my students to interact remotely and be able to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in an ever more competitive world through my interactive and virtual lessons. It will definitely be a critical factor to close a bit of that achievement gap and prepare our students through virtual training that is interactive and dynamic.
