My students need three student violins. In our high need community, the students have the desire and talent to learn and perform, but they do not have the ability to purchase or rent the instruments. This opportunity would give these students the chance to experience something very special - the experience of music.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach instrumental music to grades three through eight in a high need district. While some of the students can afford to rent or purchase instruments, many more cannot. The school district owns a limited number of instruments for the students to use and many are in disrepair.
There are a number of limited English speaking students who would like to learn the violin. Currently we own four violins, but I have 26 violin students. Instead of all students receiving extra practice and enrichment with their violin skills, we must share the few violins we actually have. These four violins have to be shared and rotated through the students, so that some students only get their hands on the instrument once every two to three weeks.
By having three more violins donated for our instrumental music program it will bring the opportunity for three more students to have the ability to take instruments home to practice rather than having to share them with other students. This will lead to increased practice, increased skill and increased confidence in the violin students.
Your help will make it possible for three more children to gain a lifelong appreciation of music and learn skills that can take them beyond their dreams. Thank you for your consideration!
