Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students are from a school with limited resources. The Music Program has no budget and yet we get through the year with donations. My students rehearse almost everyday after school to supplement the time they may have during class. Many of my students prefer to stay in the music room before class, during lunch and late after School.
My students are a mixture of 9th-12th graders who are eager learners and members of the marching band, drumline, and the Beginning bands.
New this year is an Advance String Orchestra.
My Project
Several of our violins work fine but because of the old cases, there is a chance that the instruments may get damaged during transportation or even handling. The orchestra will be getting bigger and better over the next years to come and there will be a bigger need for supplies. Several of the cases used now are light yet old and many are torn apart.
With new cases my students will be able to take their instruments home to practice and the instruments will have a safe case for storage.
I also be able to label each instrument's case and track the inventory better than before.
