Help me give my students the opportunity to play their violin and viola with better ergonomic support. Having shoulder rest support takes away the distraction of wiggling instruments which helps my students focus on improving their performance.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Over 75% of my school orchestra program borrows an instrument from our school inventory. As students grow out of their smaller sizes and move into larger instruments, I do not have enough shoulder rests available to provide the appropriate playing support for my students who work very hard on their own. The majority of my students can’t afford to rent a string instrument let alone keep upgrading different shoulder rests for each instrument that they out-grow.
Please consider a donation towards these shoulder rests which will make playing a violin and viola more physically accessible.
