This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The 40 students in my club are 3rd-5th graders, highly competitive, and are starting 2018 with a healthy lifestyle that involves running! Running is a sport that can often be dangerous for skincare and dehydration. If our team has better equipment to meet health needs the program will flow very smoothly.
They require equipment that will help them safely cross the finish line.
Often San Antonio weather is hot and the following items will help protect them from dehydration and skin burns, especially since running requires frequent outside activity.
My Project
Our campus has created an effective running program for third-fifth grade students after school. This program although very popular, still is in it's infancy, which leads to a high need for equipment for the runners.
The items requested will help the run team be more productive and will ensure that our runners make the most of their training time, and also help them to be less wasteful with water stops.
The canopy provides shade for runners and their families in our extremely hot weather. Coaches can also time them better with the stopwatches. The Gatorade tubs help the students to get an adequate amount water or sports drinks easily without opening countless water bottles and wasting them. Also, the whistles and megaphone will assist the coaches in keeping the runners alert, especially since we run on the neighborhood streets rather than a track.
