Viking News: Upward and Onward

Help me give my students a chance to start a news program at our school and practice with running a camera and editing film.

My Students

My students are hard working kids who attend school out here in the country. If the trees weren't in the way you'd see cows from our windows. But, they come every day ready to learn and grow.

So, we wanted to offer our students a chance to shine in Esports.

Recently we started an esports team here running Rocket League. We're having great success but we'd like to expand what we offer to get more kids the scholarships they deserve.

So, we're trying to get our hands on a Nintendo Switch for the school to start a Smash Brothers team.

My Project

Our students are looking to start a news program. This will have several benefits, students will learn how to shoot footage from the camera we're ordering. They'll also have great practice writing news articles and then delivering them to our Youtube channel.

This equipment will not just let the students record the news, but learn to edit it too.

Then with that footage created we'll begin training students in editing the film so they can get real world experience in not just reading the news, but in making it ready for consumption by our audience.
