My Project
Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, a trip to Germany or Austria was difficult; now, with travel restrictions and increased costs of airfare, it is even more so. With the Oculus Quest, my students will be able to finally see the various places in Germany and Austria we discuss in class. While it is possible to get a sense of certain activities in the German-speaking lands through pictures, it is impossible to capture the atmosphere. With the Oculus, students will be able to experience an Oktoberfest beer hall, follow the boundary of the Berlin Wall, walk through the towering granite slabs of the Holocaust Memorial, and so much more!
I teach at a Title 1 school.
While I do my best to encourage my students to travel abroad, I know for many, it is an unattainable goal. However, with the Oculus, all of my students can experience something that will stay with them for a lifetime.
