My Project
This will be my second year as a Media Literacy teacher at my phenomenal elementary school. I see every student in our school once a week.
After collaborating with grade teams, I offer students an alternative means of expression for their literacy units in which they use creative tools to make various forms of media that support reading, writing, and social studies.
These headphones with microphones and special connecting cords will enable all my students to focus on their individual projects, when desired, and also allow students to collaborate by listening to one another's work.
Students in grades K-5 will use these headphones to support their learning. Kindergartners make videos exploring their identity to support an All About Me unit. First graders plan and record videos to generate buzz about a book they are reading. Second graders create videos about their study of animals. Third graders learn to make news reports about the Fairy Tales they've read about. Fourth and fifth graders might plan, record, and edit podcasts to support their respective studies about the American Revolution and the First Amendment.
We can't wait to see how learning these skills unlocks the creativity inside of each and every student!
