This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our 7th grade math students are excited to be part of a high tech society. They need technology to expand their thinking to its fullest potential, they truly thrive on all things technological.
Learning math requires vivid visual imagery that is linked with technology.
My students need a new video projector to help them see math clearly. The new projector linked with the whiteboard that has already been graciously donated will complete my interactive math project.
My 7th graders are loud and proud. Over 75% of them come from a Hispanic background where family means everything and for many English is a second language. Our school is a Theater Arts school where we try to weave the Arts into the core disciplines so many of our students are aspiring actors, dancers, musicians, and videographers.
My Project
Technology is scarce at our inner city school. There is only one smartboard in the whole building. Using a dry erase board and a video projector our classroom has transformed into an interactive whiteboard where students can show what they are thinking using technology.
Being able to actively use technology is a must in the math classroom and has proven to enhance the learning process by making learning available to a wider variety of intelligences. My students will not only be able to learn math but can show and explain their thoughts processes to other students.
Using technology greatly enhances the learning process in the math classroom.
My 7th grade math students are the scientists, engineers, and business people of the near future. Please give them a better chance to succeed by funding our project. We gratefully thank you!
