This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students where so engaged using their new listening center and apps on the iPod touch, when it was all snatched away. During winter break our classroom was broken into and our iPods were stolen along with other electronics.

My students live in a low income neighborhood in southern Arizona.

I have never met a class full of loving students. Most live in a single parent household or have lived some sort of trauma. They are all just looking to be accepted and please the loved ones around them. Sadly, due to their low economical status, many do not have positive role models at home when it comes to language development. Therefore, many of my students are lower level readers.

My Project

These resources would be to replace the ones that were taken from us. The iPod nano will be used for the listening center, which listening to the story really helps my students comprehend the story. The iPod touch is used for a variety of activities in the classroom due to all the great apps that are available. In our class it is mainly used to practice math facts after a student has finished their work for the day

All my students were devastated when they found out the our class had been broken into.

The could not believe that someone would hurt them in such a way. Receiving these donations would restore my students' faith in the good people that are out there.
