This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The items I am requesting for my students will help to provide sensory input through tactile stimulation. This will help to regulate and manage sensory sensitivities and improve focus and behavior by delivering a predictable and controlled sensory experience.
Vibrations can act as a calming input which can help for managing sensory overload or under-responsiveness common in ASD.
Vibrations can also provide proprioceptive feebdack, which is important for body awareness and motor coordination.
Providing a calm classroom can help to reinforce self-regulation and attention skills. Having access to the vibration pad when stressed can be a great tool in helping them to relax and relieve periods of irritability and anxiety.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
