This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are hungry to fall in love with reading, but our cobbled together classroom library of hand-me-downs and out-dated books, is a hard sell to pitch.

My students with special educational needs deserve a rich classroom library of diverse and exciting books, like the Elephant and Piggie Collection, to meet their variety of ability levels and interests.

Your incredible gift would put leveled books that are current and stimulating in the hands of student with learning disabilities every day!

In our classroom we embrace and celebrate different learning abilities and value hard work, but it is so hard as a teacher to know that the classroom library I have to offer them is under stimulating and largely inaccessible to many of their reading ability levels. I hope, with your help, to build a classroom library of books that are so full of interesting choices and variety of reading levels, that my students experience the joy and creativity reading can bring.
