Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are wonderful kids who just need an opportunity to break barriers and destroy glass ceilings. Being that they are students in a low socio-economic area of a large school district, it is easy for them to become nothing but numbers and test scores.
I am looking to rebel against that mentality and show the students that they matter, while also instilling a passion for learning that will make them the Bill Gates and Steve Jobs of the next generation.
My Project
These versatiles will allow students to self-check, self-correct, and teach each other without the guidance of a teacher. Therefore, they will foster independence, critical thinking, as well as teamwork; all of these skills are essential to people in our world today.
Moreover, they will make learning engaging for the students in unfathomable ways.
At the same time, they will allow me, as the teacher, more opportunities to small group and target my students' needs, which will only enhance their ability to go out into the world and make it a better place.
The world is changed with small steps, not giant leaps.
