Vending Machine to Grow Our Brains!

My Students

Elementary is a special time for students! It is when students start to build a love for school, reading, success, and so much more. It is my goal to make sure that I am setting all of my students up for success, not only for their next grade but for the rest of their educational career.

Many of my students have great obstacles to overcome, which is why it takes a team.

All of my students receive free lunch. Many are performing below grade level. There are also students who have already experienced significant trauma in their short lifetimes, such as homelessness, death, and neglect. I try hard to make sure my students are set up for success as much as possible while in my classroom!

My Project

We've all heard of vending machines, but what about BOOK vending machines?!? This is what I would love to bring to my school to help "feed" all the growing minds of our students.

The excitement of having a new book would be amplified by being able to choose your book from a vending machine!

The vending machine would be used a school wide reward system, with teachers having special gold coins to be able to pass out to those students demonstrating exceptional behavior! My school already does a great job incentivizing learning but this vending machine would take it to an even higher level. There is no better reward than a reward that continues to foster a love for reading and learning!

Imagine being a student again and receiving a "gold token" that would allow you to get a brand new book to take home!! Not only will this project help increase the excitement for showing our schools core values but it will also allow more students to build their own library at home!
