Veggie Growers Unit

My students need a rectangular desk in order to set up their grow light and grow vegetables in the classroom that they will eventually harvest and eat.

My Students

More than half of my students come from low income households and face many challenges in and out of the classroom. Knowing this I provide my students with many meaningful learning experiences. Each learning experience gives them the necessary skills they can use throughout their life to face and overcome such challenges.

My students are energetic and love hands on work.

They excel in STEM activities where they can solve real life problems.

From the time they way walk in, to the time they leave, they are fully engaged in creative and positive ways. I want to continue to inspire my students and help them see and create a successful future.

My Project

Having this table will help my students set up their Veggie U kit in the classroom. Once this is set up my students will be learning about making healthier choices with their food, composting, and growing and harvesting their own vegetables. Students will also be able to conduct different experiments growing vegetables and be inspired to solve problems we face today with farming.

This gardening experience will provide my students with the opportunity to use STEM in the classroom as well as try new and different vegetables they might not have tried before.

Our classroom does not have the adequate furniture to support the grow light and kit at this time. This Donation will greatly impact my students learning and provide them with skills they can use in the future.
