My students need books in different genre like Beverly Cleary, Box Car Children and Henry and Mudge books. This varied level of books will cater to the wide range of our reader's abilities in the class.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are an ICT classroom in a Tier 1 school. Our population includes 5th grade students in the general education and students that are diagnosed with Emotional Disturbance, Speech and Language Impairment as well as Learning Disability. We also have students who are learning English as a New Language.
Our diverse group of students love to read and enjoy having rich conversations about any genre of books that they can get their hands on!
Our readers range from at grade level to two to three years behind reading level.
My Project
Our class loves to read! Students are very engaged and excited to pick out new books every week. They consult each other for recommendations on which ones to read next but we are running out of books to choose from. The students also takes ownership of our library by organizing them and making sure that the books are in the right bins. With the colorful bins and the new books, our library will be more inviting to some of our hesitant readers and make sure that our reading materials have a home.
