My Project
Students are no exception to life Struggles. Even though many of these struggles come from decisions or circumstances made by adults and/or disorders that nobody asked for, our young children have to learn to navigate their day of learning and complying even though they themselves do not truly understand the struggles they are living with. These read-aloud books will help them better understand and express themselves as they have to do school life with a variety of life struggles looming over them throughout their day. Give students the gift of validation. These books will hit the following topics: ADHD, OCD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, sensory-seeking behaviors, language barriers, housing insecurity, food insecurity, income insecurity, long-term illness, selective mutism, parents' divorce, grief, past traumas, anxiety, bullying, double vision, being hard of hearing, gossip and rumors, unhealthy friendships, and big feelings.
