Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a public school with 94% free or reduced-price lunches. The families we serve really want what is best for their kids and trust me as their teacher to help make those decisions. The students in my classroom are very loving and caring individuals.My students are very talented 25 young individuals who come from a low socioeconomic section in Florida. I have ESE, ESOL and autistic immigrant students. My students face many challenges inside school to succeed and do their best, and they struggle outside of school to not allow the environment that they live in to stop them from achieving their dreams. My students strive to become role models and leaders for their community.

My Project

After Irma made its way through Miami-Dade, it left a trail of mess to clean up. My students are strong and learn to overcome anything that comes in their way. Hurricane Irma left my students with no electricity for a month so some of my students come with their school uniform that they wore the day before. The detergent pods will help the parents of the kids that were affected by Irma to cut the cost of washing their children's clothes. The bissell CrossWave and the cordless hand vacuum will be used on a daily basis to help clean the dust and clutter that the class has, and the students will learn how to keep organized which will help them as adults.
