This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students are so quick to doubt themselves in their math abilities, especially with many kids just believing that they "can't do math". In reality, ALL students can have the opportunity to be a math genius. Math is a subject that needs to be explored and created. Studies have shown that when students are given the opportunity to collaborate and engage in math, students will find meaning to the subject.

As a first year teacher, I find that it is my responsibility to provide students with these opportunities, and I would love your help to make this happen.

I recently moved schools, and got my new classroom. From the second I walked in, I was really disappointed to see the condition that the classroom was in. I currently teach a couple classes where there is a mix of students with special needs in a regular classroom. With your donation, you will be helping ALL students have the materials necessary to be confident learners in our math class.

I truly believe that my students deserve the best and I would love to give them the opportunity to start fresh with these whiteboard tables. Students love to come up to the whiteboard at the front of the classroom to solve problems, and I can't imagine how much they would love to actually have these whiteboard tables as their everyday desks in math.

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing children working together and talking math, while also having fun. Having these whiteboard tables will help make that magic happen!
